— PUBLIC SERVICE SALARIES THE PROPOSED REDUCTIONS Press Association—By Telegraph— Copyright. MELBOURNE, October 14. (Received October 14, at 10.30 a.m.) Thirty representatives of the Commonwealth Public Service organisations met Mi Fenton and Mr Lyons and the assistant Minister of Works (Mr Barnes), and discussed the Federal Cabinet’s proposals for reducing salaries and wages in order to curtail the Government's expenditure. No decision was arrived at, but it is confidently expected that the organisations will accept the proposed reduction, realising that in the present state of the country finances they arc inevitable.
