FOR SCIENCE
DEAD PROFESSOR’S BODY .WAITS ANALYSIS. LONDON, August 30. The body of Professor Herbert H. Turner, which ho left to be dissected aud used for the benefit of science, was brought to London last night in a leaden coffin from Stockholm, where his death occurred. . To-day it was taken by motor hearse to London Hospital Medical School, where injections will be made. It .will then bo kept in cold storage awaiting the return from Canada of Professor Wright, director of the anatomical school at the hospital, who may extract certain organs for analysis. The body wil probably remain in the hospital for three months prior to burial in London. . . . It is most unusual for a distinguished man such as Professor Turner to leave his body for scientific purposes. Stockholm Hospital was unable to accept the bodv, as the Swedish law in such circumstances requires that a ceremony should bo conducted after death. This Professor Turner did not desire, and therefore London Hospital accepted the bequest. ' Professor Tuniei had been Savihan Professor of Astronomy at Oxford University since 1893. Ho directed that his body should be dissected and otherwise used foi the benefit of science, and that his death should not occasion any religious service or other ceremony.
