TAIERI CLUB
The annual meeting of the Taieri Club was held last night, the retiring president (the Rev A. L. Canter) presiding. The report and balance-sheet, showing a satisfactory position, were adopted. Office-bearers were elected as follow: —President, Mr A. Souter: vice-presi-dents—Messrs A. E Ansell. W. E. M’Lean, I P. Walls, H Swallow, A. L. Canter, A F Cboyne. A. F Qnelch, O. E. Taylor, and E. J Mason . secretary, Mr Ron. Souter; treasurer, Mr Conn Cousins; committee—Misses M‘Leod,"G Turnbull, Russell, S. Dyer, and Messrs L. Swallow, G Patterson, D. M’Leod; selector. Mr I.yall Swallow ; delegate to the association, Mr L. Swallow; auditor, Mr G. Patterson. The fixing of the date for the opening day was left to the committee of management to attend to, as was also the matter of top-dressing the courts before the season opened. The matter of amalgamating with East Taieri for the purpose of matches only was discussed, and two delegates were appointed to wait on the East Taieri Club. The Secretary of the Otago Association wrote regarding the matter of membership of the United Club giving privilege to play on Logan Park courts. —lt was decided that a notice be posted up in the pavilion.
