BALMACEWEN CLUB
The annual meeting of the Balmacewen Club was held in the Somerset Lounge on Tuesday evening. The vice-president (Mr S. N. Brown) occupied the chair, and in moving the adoption of the report congratulated the club on the improved standard of play, especially among the younger members. The annual report and balance-sheet were adopted. The election of office-bearers resul-ted:—Vice-president, Mr A. M'Millau; secretary, Mr W. R. Chapman; committee—Mesdames Goodloy and Stevenson, Misses T. Nisbet and M. Duke, Messrs S. N. Brown, W. B. Seymour, W. Stevenson, W. Race; Match Committee —Mrs Milne, Messrs A. W. Buohler, W. B. Seymour; I adder Committee—Miss T. Nisbet, Mr W. Race; General Committee—Messrs S. N. Brown and W. R. Chapman. Messrs S. N. Brown and A. M'Millan wepe appointed as the club’s delegates ito the Otago Lawn Tennis Association, Special reference was made by Mr D. Leslie to the efforts of the retiring secretary (Mr A. M'Millan). Mr Leslie asked Mr M’Millan to accept a fountaip pen and pencil as an appreciation of his services over a considerable period. After supper a very pleasant social hour was spent in cards and dancing.
