(Received August 7, at 10 a.m.) At a meeting of the Athletic Association of the Great Public Schools a motion was carried declaring the 19oU eight-oar championship “no race. The committee made no comment regarding allegations of irregularities in connection with the training of the crews. [A Sydney cable message on August 2 statedlt was announced yesterday that the Sydney High School; the winner of the last head of the river race, was to have the title taken from it. Sydney Grammar School was also disqualified, in spite of the fact that the school did not have a crew in the finals. This action is said to have followed a secret report by a committee of the great public school masters on alleged irregularities in the. schools training methods. The title of head of the. river goes to St. Joseph s College. This decision, however, is to bo reviewed next week, now that the Sydney High School has announced its retirement from the great public school sport activities until the good name of tne famous school fs cleared.]
