DRASTIC CHANGES LIKELY NEW YORK, August 5, That drastic changes in the policy of the Davis Cup competition are under consideration «s indicated by American lawn tennis officials. The president of the United States Association (Mr Louis Ba ley) said ho would advocate that next year’s quest of the cup should be undertaken without the long months of arduous preparation now involved. Mr Joseph Wear (chairman of the Davis Cup Committee) said that when at last the United States succeeded in recovering the trophy he would favour holding the competition every two years instead of annually.
