There are in New Zealand doubtless many readers who are looking forward to the arrival of Mrs E. Thornton Cook’s new book, ‘Royal Marys: Princess Mary and her Predecessors,’ says our London correspondent. This has lately been published J\lrs Thornton Cook, who formerly lived in Otago, has-received the gratifying information that she has .‘‘ surrounded her Royal Highness, Princess Mary, with exactly the \;ight atmosphere.” „ “ Royalty,” says the authoress, 11 has been as kind as usual, giving me all possible help, both in connection with the last chapter and with the illustrations, several of which were photographed expressly for me from the originals at Windsor Castlm” Rooks of historic interest that Mrs Thorntorf Cook has _ previously written include ‘ Hot- Majesty: The Romance of the . Queens of England, 1066-1910’; ‘Their Majesties of Scotland’; and ‘Royal Elizabeths. 14641840.’ The publishers of the new hook remark: “ Mrs Thornton Cook has collected mueh'quninfflhd out-of-the way information, add .she. makes all her personalities live.
