RUGBY IN FRANCE
SUPPRESSING ROUGH PLAY PARIS, October 26. In an effort to stamp out rough play in the Rugby championship matches the Pyrenees Committee is fining clubs whose" players are sent off the field-tor foul play.! The fines are graded according to the status of the 'clubs, the most prominent of which are mulct in 50s for a member’.-- misbehaviour. The fines are deduetable_ from the gate receipts. The authorities are concerned about the growth of professionalism and roughness. The French Chamber will shortly debate the question ot purifying the game.
