HOTEL FIRE TRAGEDY

WOMAN AND INFANT BURNT [Feb United Press Association. 1 INVERCARGILL. October 28. Tho Carners’ Anns Hotel, at Riverton. an old two-storied wooden building, was destroyed by fire at about 2.30 this morning. Mrs Trembatb, wife of tho licensee,, and her infant, were trapped m the flames and burnt to death. Mr William Trembath, the licensee, and formerly a well-known amateur and professional runner, and the boarders escaped. Nothing was saved except a few sporting trophies. The insurances are not available.
