# The conference of Hawke’s Bay counties in Napier decided to enter an emphatic protest against the Transport Law Amendment Bill, the opinion being expressed that the amendmut would take powers from the counties, and result in the establishment of anothei Government department, thus increasing the burden on the ratepayers.
