PASSENGERS IN PERIL PRIEST GIVES ABSOLUTION Pres* Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. BRUSSELS, October 20. There was an unprecedented scene when a Roman Cathoh- priest pronounced absolution for the dying on an aeroplane which was flying over the Belgian coast waen it seemed that nothing could -wive him and eleven others from death. The machine was carrying twelve membexs of a Belgian touring club from Antwerp to Ghent, when, at a height ot I,oooft, the carburettor was set alight Convinced that hope was gone, the, passengers begged for absolution, and while the priest was pronouncing it the p>ilot struggled for mastery ol the machine and made a skilful land ng on the coast. All were just clear when the petrol tank blew up and the aeroplane was destroyed. The terror of th" ordeal turned the hair of one of the passengers white.—Australian Press Association.
