COLUMBA GIRLS' ANNUAL MEETING The annual athletic sports meeting of.Columba College girls was held yesterday on the college playing field, Bishopscourt. The morning was devoted to running off a lengthy list of heats, while the afternoon saw a number of interesting races in the finals. Many parents and friends were in attendance in the afternoon. The long programme was put through quickly, and the officials are to be congratulated on the success of the day. The total entries numbered over 200, and the keenness of the competitors made the competitions interesting, while great rivalry was displayed in the interform races and races for the junior and senior cups. A new school record was established by N. Edmonds,-in the long jump for the junior cup, who registered 12ft, tlrus beating P. Leiby’s record of lift lOin made in 1927. M. Findlay and S. Douglass both gained 7 points for the senior cup; the junior cup went to N. Edmonds with 12 points, and the premier form banner was easily won by Matriculation (44 points).
