MUCH IN THE PUBLIC EYE.-Formerly a huddle of houses, the City of Telaviv, thanks to the energy of the Zionists, now presents a wonderfully changed appearance, In 1919 it was a suburb of Jaffa. In 1921 it was given the status of a municipality and these clays it is the economic centre of the Jews in Palestine. The Jewish University was opened in Telaviv in 1925; and other amenities of modern life include libraries and theatres, Telaviv lies on the Mediterranean coast and its entire population is Hebrew.
