THE RUMANIAN REGENCY REPORT DENIED. Prese Asaociation—By Telegraph—Copyright. BUCHAREST, October 17. Queen Marie gives a complete denial to the report that she desired a scat on the Regency Council. —Australian Press Association. [A message received from Bucharest on Wednesday read as follows: —“A considerable stir has been caused by the report of an outburst by Queen Mario against tho Government. Dr Bubdugan. one of the three Regents, died recently, and M. Saratzeanu was appointed his successor. It is reported that Queon, Marie wanted the vacant seat, which, it is rumoured, the Government was willing to give if Prince Nicholas resigned. This suggestion apparently roused Queen Marie’s ire, and she said in an interview in a newspaper; “I would never dream of ■ replacing Prince Nicholas. If the Government considers that predominance of the Royal Family on the Regent Council is dangerous that is proof that tho Government itself is seeking to rule the country by influencing the Regency.” The Government has asked Queen Marie for an explanation, and it is stated that if she confirms the statements, attributed to her the Prime Minister (M. Maniu) must resign.]
