Supper was served, and dancing concluded a very enjoyable evening. The death is reported of Mr Edmund Couston. at his residence at Toiro, in the Olutha district. Ho was born m Scotland, and came out with other members of bis family by the slop Stratballan, arriving ab Port Chalmers on January S, 1858. When quite a young mau he settled on a farm at Toiro, and resided there continuously all his life. He was of a quiet and retiring disposition and though he never aspired to public office, was widely known and inspected. Mrs Couston died many years ago. A grown-up family, mourn their loss.
