OTAGO ASSOCIATION Sir Charles Todd presided at _lasfc night’s meeting of the executive of the Otago Cricket Association, which was held in Mr E. S. Wilson’s board room. Dr James Fitzgerald wrote thanking the members of the association for their message of sympathy with him in tho loss of his brother. He stated that ho would bo pleased to take his brother’s place on the committee, and appreciated the action, of tho members in giving him that privilege.—Tho letter was received. In regard to the proposed matches, a memorandum had been received Irom the secretary of the Otago Schools’ Cricket Association stating that tho arrangements were satisfactory.—The letter was received, the suggested matches being agreed to, and the dates confirmed. It was resolved that Mr Eastman should represent the executive and act on the-committee m the matter of selecting teams. The Secretary of the Wellington Association wrote suggesting that the Otago v. Wellington match should be played on December 25, 27, 28, and 29. The game could not he resumed on Boxing Dav owing to the fact that tho annual Caledonian sports would be held on the Basin Reserve. By this arrangement the Otago team would be able to begin its match with Auckland on New Year’s Day.—After some discussion, it was decided that the conditions proposed could not be accepted. The secretary was instructed to write suggesting that the College ground should bo used, if tins were impossible, tho match should at least he played on consecutive days.
