CIVIL ACTION SETTLED In the Supreme Court yesterday, before His Honour Mr Justice MacGregor, a claim was brought by Isaac Stevenson against John Genie Neil and John William Scurr for £SOO, alleged to be due as .the balance of the purchase money for shares in Messrs Stevenson and Cook, Ltd., which had been purchased by the defendants. Ibe claim was admitted, subject to a coun-ter-claim for the same amount alleged to bo due on a warranty by the vendor as to the amount of sundry creditors of the Stevenson and Cook Engineering Company, Ltd., at the date or lliG sale, Mr F. B. Adams appeared for the plaintiff and Mr H, E. Barrow-dough for the defendants. Evidence on the counter-claim w - as given by the defendants, and at the luncheon adjournment His Honour expressed the opinion that the parties should make an effort to settle their differences. , In the afternoon tho parties conferred, and when His Honour resumed his seat on the bench Mr Adams said he was pleased to be able to say that the matter had been adjusted by a process of mutual concessions involving a complete settlement of all the claims in respect of the contract for the sale of the shares. Neither the claim nor the counter-claim would be pursued any further. He also stated that the par- . ties wished to thank His Honour for ! tho indulgence extended in the matter 1 of time. . . .
