Charging the interests with bribing the ccjirts of justice and also tb Government, _ Mrs Flora Haskett addressed a meeting of the Provincial Council of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union. She said that the sooner the Government stores were bankrupt, the quicker the Government would ho successful. The liquor interests wore growing so wealthy that they could buy officers and even control governments themselves. She said the council would pray for Mr Hoover’s success in the United States’ election.—Australian Press Association
