TROUBLE IN TORY RANKS LONDON, August 8. The growing insubordination in the ranks of the younger Conservatives has culminated in the excommunication of Sir Basil Peto, M.P (Barnstaple Division of Devon), by the party chiefs, who last year recommended Sir Basil’s baronetcy. Tho recent speeches of Lord Birkenhead, Mr Winston Churchill, and Sir William Joynson-Hicks have also embarrassed the Prime Minister (Mr Baldwin), who thrice recently has publicly rebuked members of his Cabinet.
