Turpin, tho well-known Linwood footballer, who was admitted on Juno 2 with dislocated cervical vertebrae, and partially paralysed. After X-ray examination, the surgeons decided on the desperate expedient of manipulating tho vertebra back into position. The operation was performed twice, and success has been achieved to the extent that tho dislocation has been reduced, and tho paralysis released. Tho indications aro that Turpin will make, <- complete recovery, but he may have his neck in plaster of .pans for several weeks, possibly tbreo mouths. Turpin received bis injury in the Limvnod-Mcrivale match on June 2. Ho .made a (lying high tackle, missed his man, and fell heavily on the back of his neck.
