SCHUBERT CENTENARY FESTIVAL

To dwell on the romantic or poetic in music is to think of Schubert. His entrancing music will bo heard in its proper setting on Tuesday night at Burns Hall, where every item is a gem. Miss Beatrice Sproston, who is known as an accomplished singer, with rare dramatic power, will sing ‘The Erl King,’ with its vivid changes and thrilling climax. One of Miss Eva Scott’s numbers is the beautiful ‘ Ave Maria,’ and Miss Dorothy Skinner will introduce in her group ‘ The Organ Grinder.’ Tho songs aro in great variety, and are calculated to give rare pleasure.

Mr G. W. Johnstone will lecture on ‘ The Songs of Schubert ’ at The Bristol Concert Chamber to-morrow night, from 8 till 9, the idea being to give an outline of important details in song and accompaniment in order that they may bo the better appreciated. All interested are cordially invited to bo present. Tho plan for the concert is at The Bristol.
