CHURCH MISSIONS
Increased interest in the special mission services was evident in the large attendance at Knox Church last evening. The sendee opened with the ranging of popular hymns under the leadership oi Mr W. Paget Gale and with a solo by Miss Effie Williams. The Rev. Tulioch Yuille preached on the subject ' Adding to Our Stature,’ and spoke of how God enlarges a human life, giving to each believer larger vision, larger joy, larger mind, and larger friendship. Ho urged his hearers to let God into their lives through the love of Christ, and then an opportunity was given in a few quiet moments to all present to open their hearts to God. During the time of quiet Miss Hope Hodges sang tho well-known hymn ‘Knocking/ Many availed themselves of tho oppor tunity to take the first step or a forward step hi tho Christian life. Tho various churches of South Dunedin have combined to hold a ten days’ mission in the South Dunedin Presbyterian Church. Each evening one of the ministers leads tho service, while tho sermon and appeal are given by another minister. A combined choir leads the singing, and a solo is rendered at each service. Previous to tho main service a prayer meeting is held in the choir vestry. During the week tho attendances liave been very good, and the services will bo continued to-night and again on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings. After tlio usual service next Sunday evening a combined rally will bo hold in the South Dunedin Presbyterian Church, in which all tho ministers will take part.
