(Received June 13, at 10.30 a.m.) Captain Kingsford Smith announces that tho Southern Cross will he overhauled after her Melbourne visit, and tho Now Zealand trip will ho undertaken within a few weeks. Hordern has donated £5,000 to tho Pacific flyers. This brings the aggregate of all funds contributed to date to about £21,000. The Mayor of Wellington has sent the following cablegram to Captain Kingsford Smith at Melbourne: — “ Strong representations have boon made to mo to urge you to make Wellington your landing place in New Zealand. Should you fly here, I can assure you a very hearty welcome.”
