FEDERAL LABOUR SEATS MR LAMBERT’S CHARGES, Press Association—By Telegraph-Copyright SYDNEY, June 12. At- the Federal graft inquiry W. G. Mahoney denied the allegation that he was offered £B,OOO to vacate his seat in favour of Mr Theodore, and explained that the money which he paid for an hotel at Balmain was tho proceeds of investments at the - Melbourne Cup meeting in 1926, when he won between £3,000 and £4,000. Ho brought this money from Melbourne in notes, which he hid behind old ‘Hansards’ in a bookcase at his home. He kept the news of his winnings to iiimsclf, because when a Labour man was known to have money “lug-biters” became my persistent.,
