THE IRRIGATION COMMITTEE.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I wrote to you on April 20 concerning the personnel of Mr Coates’s “white-washing committee.” I am told that I omitted one or two points, .and would ask you if Mr George is chairman of the Reform League or committee in Roxburgh? Also whether or not Mr Ritchie was the Reform candidate at last election? If this is so it would appear that the constitution of this committee is even more absurd than I anticipated in my letter of April 20. Again, I am informed that Mr Riddler, lately associated with Mr Marks as chief clerk in Dunedin, has been appointed ns secretary of this committee. T often think that the secretary of any committee or hoard has as much say as one of its members. Is it possible that Mi - Riddler is secretary of this committee? If my information with regard to above letters is correct everything appears to be still more absurd. I must delay until I get authentic; information with regard to these points; but if they arc correct there will be no Advance Otago. May 1.
