PLAY IN CATHEDRAL
CANTERBURY ARRANGEMENT OFFERING FOR WHIT MONDAY. LONDON, April 18. *A poetical play, ‘The Coming of Christ,’ which has been written by Mr John Masefield at the invitation of Dean Bell, will be first performed in the nave of Canterbury Cathedral on Whit Monday, May 27. The incidental music has been composed by Mr Gustav Holst, who is also training the principals and chorus. Mr Charles Ricketts, R.A., who designed the dresses, will assist Mr Masefield in producing the play, which will be performed twice daily for two days. Dean Bell says ho regards the whole presentation us a religious offering.
