UNLICENSED MOTORISTS. Garnet Ball pleaded guilty to being the unlicensed driver of a motor car which he said he had possessed only a short time. Since the date of the information he had obtained a license. —Defendant was fined os and costs.

Sydney Geison, the unlicensed driver of a motor cycle, did not appear, and was fined 10s and costs. Also charged with being the jinhcensed driver of a motor cycle, Neville Robert Grounds said that ho was riding a friend’s cycle, and at the time was merely “going for a packet ot cigarettes.”—Fined ss, without costs.

SPEEDING

Reginald G Fraser, who did not appear, was charged with driving a motor vehicle at a speed dangerous to the public, Chief Traffic Inspector M'Nicoll stating that on January 14 the defendant had travelled along Crawford street at 10 p.m. at a speed of thirtyfive miles an hour. —Defendant was fined 30s and costs (12s). Geiald Shicl did not appear to answer a charge of driving a motor car at a speed dangerous to tho public.— Evidence was given that defendant drove along Crawlord street and over the intersection at Manor place at a speed of thirty-three miles an hour. — He was fined 20s and costs. PILLION RIDING.

For being in charge of a, motor car at night without a light Eric M'Sherry was fined 5s and costs; and on two similar charges Horace Wilson was fined 5s and costs on the first, and convicted and discharged on tho other. Thomas Casserly, for leaving his car in Dowling street for a period longer than fifteen minutes, was fined 5s and costs. For passing a stationary tramcar while driving a motor car, Margaret Gustafson was fined 40s and costs.

For leaving their cars for a longer period than fifteen minutes in Dowling street, John Alexander Pearce and Arthur Alexander Reid were each fined 5s and costs.
