SHEFFIELD SHIELD CRICKET

NEW SOUTH WALES v. VICTORIA. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, January 30. New South Wales in their second innings have lost eight wickets for 353 (Andrews 32, Jackson 44, Kippax 42. Oldfield 49, Bradman not out 134). The weather was fine and the wicket good. New South Wales commenced their second strike against the Victorians disastrously, as at luncheon four wickets were down for 89 runs. Jackson and Kippax then stopped the rot, but the batting was very slow against Blackie’s deadly bowling. When Bradman came to the wickets play livened up, and runs were made much more quickly. After being nearly stumped early in his innings, Bradman, while not taking chances, gave a splendid exhibition, playing an invaluable innings.

[New South Wales in the first innings made 533 and Victoria 422.]
