EMPIRE BROADCASTING
A SUCCESSFUL TEST Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, January 29. Vtav’on JLO, Melbourne, was received splendidly at Keston between 7.45 and B.JJ, Orienwicb mean time, constituting by IV.r the most successful attempt yet mace. It was a pity, under the ciicumstaucos, that the programme canid not be relayed over England, as the strength and consistency justified this being done; but no arrangements had been made to relay owing to the recent disappointments with this station. A few privileged Australians listening on the land line from Keston were smprised to hear the forecast of a deep depression located at Lord Howe Island. An item that followed, ‘GirJ of Yesterday,’ with vocal chorus, was ns perfect ns anything sent out from Loudon. Exports arc delighted with the result of the broadcast, which was picked up on metres.
