PUBLIC SERVICE TOURNEY

The. seventh annual Public Service bowling tournament was held on Kaituna green on Friday, when twelve rinks, divided into two sections, competed. Results:— SECTION A. —First Round.— Crawford (Retired) 16 beat Rawlinson (Teachers) 11; Lock (Justice) 15 beat MTntyre (Lands and Survey) 5; Forster (Agriculture) 14 beat Dickson (Retired) 8. —Second Round. — Rawlinson 20, Lock 3; Dickson 11, Crawford 5; Forster 22, MTntyre 15. —Third Round.— Rawlinson 18, MTntyre 8: Forster 15, Crawford 7; Dickson 18, Lock 12. —Fourth Round.— Forster 21, Rawlinson 14; Crawford 14, Lock 13; Dickson 20, MTntyre 12. Forster was the section winner. Kennedy and Tyrrell tied with three wins each, and in the play-off Kennedy won, The final now lay between Forster and Kennedy, and this was decided on Saturday evening, Foster winning. The game was rather uneven, Forster’s men playing more consistently, as the scores will show Seventh head, Forster 9, Kennedy 4; fourteenth, 19 to 12; twenty-first, 25 to 16. Kennedy’s men played a. good deal below the form they showed on Friday.

This is the first time that Agriculture has won the Shield.
