, AUSTRALIA AND HEW ZEALAND AN AGREEMENT SIGNED. Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, January 26. (Received January 27, at 9.10 a.m.) In order to assist the exhibition ot British films in Australia and New Zealand, negotiations have been concluded by Mr C. Cherschwell on behalf of the British Dominions Film Proprietary (Melbourne) with the British Instructional Film, Gaumonts Limited, and the New Era Productions, Limited, whereby the former agrees to market the latters' productions in Australia and New Zealand. The former company has already arranged to take twenty pictures. The announcement • adds that the Melbourne firm is willing to undertake the distribution of other British producer’s films on similar terms. Sir Granville Ryrie and Sir James Parr co-operated in the successful conclusion of the agreement. Sir James P.&rr congratulated Australia on giving a lead, to the dominions, and said; “ What Australia can do, New Zealand can do.”—A. and N-Z. and ‘ Bun Cable.
