EDITOR WINS LIBEL ACTION DAMAGES AGAINST MARIE STORES. Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, January 26. (Received January 27, at 9.10 a.in.) Mr H. A. Gwynnc, editor of the ‘ Morning Post,’ was awarded £2OO damages in a libe) action against Dr Mario Slopes, arising from her letter, to the Duke of Northumberland suggesting that the Roman Catholics were manipulating the paper because the ‘ Morning Post ’ refused to continue the Society of Constructive Birth Control’s advertisements.
Mr Gwynne gave evidence that he did not know prior to the case that the Roman Catholics were the chief antagonists to birth control.
