AN INSURANCE AGENT’S DEATH. A verdict of suicide was returned at the inquest on Leslie Garland Pike, married, an insurance agent, who was found yesterday afternoon with his head in an oven and the gas full on in a flat in Symonds street. His widow stated that Pike had been ill for a year, and had left the sanatorium at Rotorua only a week ago.—Auckland Press Association telegram. INJURED BY LIFT. James Cormack, aged fifty, residing at 87 King Edward road, and employed as a laborer at the new Public Trust building, ■ was admitted to the hospital at 2.30 this afternoon. He was suffering from back injuries, caused by being snueeasd under a lift.
