THE SHARE MARKET

DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE. The local market, was very quiet this morning, no sales being either transacted on ’Change or reported. Bank of New South -Wales were wanted at £47 10s, with* out any seller being disclosed. Buyer* appeared for nearly all the shipping stocks, but sellers were conspicuous by their complete absence. There was a close market in' Refrigerating contnbutings, 8s 7d being offered by buyers, and eollers being prepared to quit at 8s 8(1. However, the difference of Id prevented busines* being effected. Brilisii Tobaccos were sought at -°t 19s 9d, without response. Buyers came on the market for New Zealand Breweries debentures at £1 2s 3d, and for Staples’* at £1 19s 3d. Electrolytic Zincs have firmed in both issues, buyers offering £1 12s for preference shares "and £1 11s for deferred ordinaries, without a seller being disclosed in either case. Mount Lyells have receded slightly as far as buying quotations are concerned, the. best buyer this morning being at £1 8s 9d. The selling price was £1 10s. Yesterday there was a buyer at £1 9s 6d. Upper Nevis share* do not seem to be in very keen demand, there being a seller at £1 5s 6d, with no buyer. Big Beach shares were inquired for a. 14s, with a seler at 18s. Government Stocks remain at about the same prices as yesterday. Quotations were as under;—
