PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES
REPUBLICAN NOMINATION SUPPORT FOR SENATOR NORRIS. Press Association—By Telegraph-Copyright-WASHINGTON, January 23. Assuming the role of stormy petrel of the Republican Party, a role held by his father for so many years, Senator La Folletto will lead a delegation at the Republican National Convention in support of Senator Norris for the Presidency. It appears that this movement, as in 1924, threatens to split the Republican Party. Senator La Folletto will demand the inclusion in the Republican platform denunciation of the American policy in Nicaragua, denunciation of tho 3,000,000,000d0l naval programme, an expression of opposition to compulsory military training service, and a demand for the amendment of the Volstead Act. [Senator George William Norris was born in 1861, and was admitted to the Bar in ISB3. He has had a seat in the Senate for two terms.]
