1 thought it distinctly significant of the times to see on top of a bus the other day three, Chinese ladies unaccompanied. One, the cicerone of the party, was smoking and evidently vastly amusing the other two by her comments on the passing sights, which she accompanied by eloquent gestures (says a_ 1 Daily Chronicle ‘ writer). The animation of the little group attracted the amused attention of the other passengers, and the conductor, when taking the fares, could not resist Ids Cockney comment, “ I’ll tell Mr Wun Lung of you! ” . .
