The annual picnic of the Port Chalmers Old Identities’ Association was held at Quarantine Island on Saturday, the outing being favored with ideal weather. Quito a good number availed themselves of the harbor trip. Sports for the children were provided. The president (Mr J. Farquharson) was ably assisted by the secretary (Mr B. Knewstubb) and a committee. Among those present were the following pioneers Messrs W. Patterson, secretary of the Otago Early Settlers’ Association (Jura, 1858), G. Style (Chariot of Fame, 1862), F. Knight (Olding, 1862); J. Purdie (Nelson 1863), S. Voisy (Chariot of Fame, 1861), J. Eempseed (Shaftfuklsage, 1858), A, Sutherland (kelson, 1863), J. Earl and (Lahow, 1864), and J, Welsh (Winton Early Settle**’ Association) .
