EMPIRE APPOINTMENTS • STATEMENT BY MR AMERY. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. OTTAWA, January 23. (Received January 24, at 9.1 D a.m.) The supplementary change of personal communications was the description by Mr L. S. Amery in a Press interview of the now post of British representative in Canada. Asked if there was a possibility of the sotting up of a diplomatic service within the Empire, Mr Amery said that the term diplomacy was open to ambiquities in Imperialism. The new posts wore more like liaison work and not like limited discussions between foreign Rowers, ft was a question of convenience for each dominion who, and of what rank would fill the positions.
