ARMED MEN EFFECT RESCUE

Prsii Association —By Telegraph—Copyright,

LONDON, January 23. St. Brigid’s Military Hospital, Dublin, was the scene of a dramatic rescue of a wounded prisoner named James Nugent. He was lying on a bed in charge of an armed detective, when suddenly two armed men appeared in the ward and levelled revolvers at the head of the detective and ordered him to surrender his gun. The detective refused, and one of the armed men fired, but missed. When the smoke cleared aw-ay the armed men had disappeared, and the bed was empty, though Nugent was wearing nothing but his pyjamas and had to climb a wall in order to escape.
