The National Park Board has definitely decided that the new hotel at Whakapapa shall be built on a site about 300yds north of the present hut. Ten huts are contemplated, each to hold twenty-four persons, but only one will be erected at present. _ The board is cramped for funds until the toll charges come into force. These tolls will range from 2s 6d per motor car downwards. In consequence of the demand for accommodation at the time of the winter sports the board decided that all clubs must apply by October .31 for the following season, and where dates clashed the accommodation would be decided by ballot.
