LONELY AND DESPONDENT
SUICIDE ATTEMPTED [Per United Press Association.] HAMILTON, January 10. A charge of attempted suicide was preferred against Victor Allwood Walmsley Rollings, aged fifty-two, today, when he was convicted and ordered to pay medical expenses. It was stated that he was a sawmill hand at Otorohanga, and in a fit of despondency following a drinking bout, attempted suicide by cutting his throat and stabbing himself in the chest, being lound wandering twelve miles from Otorohanga. He said he was depressed by the loneliness.
