KESKINEN'S APPEARANCE
MONDAY'S SPORE'S MEETING. The appearance of Kino Keskinen, the famous Finnish athlete and holder of the Australasian pole vault and decathlon championships, at the Otago Centre’s evening athletic meet _ next Monday night is creating much, interest locally, and his exhibition in the spectacular pole vault will be worth going a long way to see. He will also compete in the javelin throwing, and as he has recently heaved the spear 183 ft, this is another event which should he well worth watching. C. M. Olsen, the great New Zealand middledistance runner, who ran so well at the Australasian championships, is expected to register fast time in the 440yds handicap, while there should be keen racing between Caversham, Civil Service. Anglican, and Pacific Clubs in the mile medley relay handicap. Two cycling events arc included on the programme, which will commence at the Caledonian Ground nt / o clock. Following the sports meeting there will be a great novelty attraction in openair dancing, which will lie held on the lawn.
