The crabbed bachelor and the aged spinster sat sufferingly side by side in the concert hall.
The selections were apparently unfamiliar to the bachelor, but when the ‘ Wedding March ’ was played he pricked up his cars. “ Well, that sounds familiar,” he exclaimed. “I'm not very keen on these classical pieces, but that’s a real good 'un. What is it?” The spinster cast down her eyes. “That,” she told him, demurely, “is ‘The Maiden’# Prayer.' ”
