CIVIC CHOIR

The most popular entertainment provided at the Festival Hall of the New Zealand and South Seas Exhibition was the performance of the concert edition of Verdi’s ‘ll Trovatore.’ The Civic Choir, which has been formed to keep together the excellent body of choristers of the late Exhibition Choir, has, during the last few months, been assiduously practising under the eoductorship of Mr W. Paget Gale, with the object of reproducing tills popular work. A very capable orchestra, under the leadership of Mr J. Wallace, has been obtained, and the soloists are all well-known local artists. ‘II Trovatore’ will be presented in His Majesty’s Theatre on December 8.
