AÇIDENTS AND DEATHS
I RATAL SHOOTING MISHAP, The body of Thomas Quaylo was found under a tree about half a mile from his home at Weston last night, with an extensive gunshot wound in his left breast, and his gun lying behind him. Deceased; who was a wharf laborer, aged thirty-eight, married, with no children, had boon out shooting. Apparently he was returning home, carrying a sack of wood and when passing under a tree on the track the gun caught in a branch and exploded, causing instant death.—New Plymouth Association message. SOLICITOR’S DEATH. A Wellington Association message states that at tho inquest on B. J. Dolan, barrister and solicitor, a verdict was returned of death from the effects of coal gas poisoning, self-ad-ministered while in a _ state of temporary mental depression. - FOUND DEAD. The superintendent of police has received word that William James Smith, laborer, aged 58, was found dead at Luggate last night. It was evident that the man had been dead about five days, tho circumstances suggested his death having been caused from taking .strychnine. , CYCLING ACCIDENT. At 8 a.m. to-day_ Colin Fraser, a young man residing in Rxikside road, Woodhangh, was admitted to the hospital suffering from slight facial injuries received through, colliding with a cart while on his bicycle.
