DUXEUIN STOCK EXCHANGE. The past 'week has been a quiet one on tho local Stock Exchange in comparison with, the previous two or three weeks. In the banking section New South Wales have been sold at £44 10s: buyers are now offering £44 ss, as against *£44 a week ago, with no seller under £44 17s (Id. Hank of New Zcalands had a buyer offering 58s, but no seller was disclosed under 'sßs 9d; sales have been effected, up to 58s 6d. Commercial Bank quotes are on a par with those of last week, with sales at 295. E.S. and A. Banks, cum final dividend of U per cent, (making a 12-J- per cent, dividend for the year), are for sale af£S. National Bank of New Zealand ■ quotations have been very wide, buyers offering £6 15s and sellers coining on the market at £6 19s, Union Bank rights have been sold up to 53s 6d; this morning they were wanted at 51s 6d, with sellers at 53s Cd, Applications for now shares must be lodged at tho haul; not Infer than November IC. Business in insurance, shares has been quiet all tho week, with sellers predominating; buyers are offering 60s Cd for Standards. Huddart, Parker ords. are being inquired for at 47s Cd, without response. At tho adjourned meeting of P. and 0. Deferred Stock shareholders in London the original proposal to issue tho new stock to both deferred and preferred stockholders was adopted; holders of deferred stock will therefore be able to take up approximately 15 per cent, of the new issue at 100 per cent, premium. Following the announcement of a reduced dividend, there have been no buyers for Westport Coals, _ although sellers were prepared to quit at 35s this morning. A week ago buyers were offering 35s fld cum div., with sellers at 36s 9d. Goldsbrough, Morts are easier and now sought at 47s 3d, as against 48s a week ago. New Zealand Refrigerating shares have firmed during tiro week, buyers now offering los Cd for the paid issue and 8s Id for the contributing and -tho selling prices being- 16s Cd and 8s Cd respectively. Sales have been reported at 16s. Last week buyers were offering 7s lOd for the contributing shares, with sellers at 8s 2d. D.I.C, (ords.) are-now wanted at 9s (prom.), as against 8s Cd_a week ago, Dominion Rubbers have finned to 35? Cd buyers, 40s sellers; last week buyers offered 335. Mosgicl Woollens have further advanced to £G 15s (buyers), with no seller in evidence. Upper
