CAPE TOWN, October 27*. Tho country as a whole appears to bo accepting the flag settlement in a fine spirit, and in the belief that the last great racial issue has been removed.

Dr Malan, the Minister responsible lor the Bill, suggested that the Flag Bill should come into operation on Union Day, May 31, the day commemorating tho end of the struggle between Briton and Boer.
