GAMNfi ACT PROSECUTION FAILS (Per United Press Association.! CHEISTCHUKGH, October 27. Kuchro tournaments arc not a breach of the Gaming Act, according (o the decision of Mr Mosley, S.M., to-day. The police prosecuted William Alfred Britten, who had conducted tournaments for his own profit. It was admifetd that the functions were fairly conducted. The chief detective said there was an element of chance, in that the cards were dealt, and players had different partners. In dismissing the information the magistrate held that skill predominated, and said (bore was nothing prejudicial to public morals where games were played, as in the case nnder consideration.
