LONDON SERVICES UNIFIED MANAGEMENT PROPOSED. (British Official News.) Proii Association —By Wireless—Copyright RUGBY, October 25. A far-reaching scheme for tlio coordination of London passenger transport services has been formulated by the London and Homo Counties’ Traflic Advisory Committee, and submitted for tlio consideration of tho Minister of Transport. It is understood that Cabinet lias decided that tho scheme shall bo submitted to all the traffic authorities concerned for an expression of their views, and the report is now published in full. The proposals contemplate the consolidation of underground railways, tramways, and omnibuses under a. unified management, subject to public control, and the pooling and distribution of tho surplus revenues of the undertakings concerned. The committee is convinced that, if its recommendations are adopted, tho various undertakings can be made self-supporting without any increase in the general level of the fares now prevailing, ft is proposed that the scheme, if adopted, should continue to operate for a minimum period of forty-two years, subject to revision or alteration within that period only by the general consent of the parties.
