(Received October 20, at 9.25 a.m.) Under the aegis of the Migration Commission, with the assistance of the Commonwealth Government, a scheme is afoot to charter a special .steamer to carry to Scotland next April a delegation of 500 to 700 Scotch-Australians for the purpose of advertising Australia. Tho delegation will consist of Scotchmen who have made their home in Australia. Though the main objective is to visit Scotland, other parts of the United Kingdom will also be visited with a view to stimulating migration. The delegation will bo armed with samples of dried fruit and other products in proof of arguments that Australia is a good land to settle in. The promoters say that their intention is not to indulge in indiscriminate migration propaganda. They hope not so much to increase the number ol migrants ns to improve the quality. The movement is receiving strong support.
